The Applied Research Scientist role at Apple focuses on leveraging state-of-the-art Generative models to enhance products and user experiences across various Apple platforms. The team aims to improve Apple platforms by understanding and adapting to user behavior through machine learning. Candidates will work on modeling problems like Reinforcement Learning and Autonomous Systems, contributing to innovative features and tools. Requirements
- M.S. or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience in applied machine learning and/or product development.
- Strong programming skills in Python and/or C++ with experience in machine learning modeling.
- Fundamental knowledge of machine learning concepts and hands-on experience in building deep-learning systems.
- Proficiency in using ML toolkits such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, and SkLearn.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement machine learning algorithms that process data in Apple products.
- Train Generative AI models and Agentic systems using deep reinforcement learning.
- Integrate machine learning and reinforcement learning frameworks into products.
- Communicate advanced ideas to a focused team of researchers.
- Write clean, maintainable, and production code with appropriate documentation and tests.
- Contribute to architecture decisions, design reviews, and peer code reviews.
