Job description
The Siri organization is seeking Machine Learning Systems Engineers to enhance Siri and Apple Intelligence through advanced generative AI technology. The team focuses on training on-device and cloud models, evaluating innovative approaches, and delivering critical models that power various Apple products. Engineers will collaborate with talented researchers and work on complex problems across the ML stack. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent industry/project experience
- Strong proficiency in Python and ML frameworks such as PyTorch
- Experience in the model lifecycle of training, evaluation, and deployment of models
- Strong understanding of Machine Learning model architectures, including Transformers and CNN
- Expertise in ML and LLM optimization techniques such as quantization and KV Cache
- Familiarity with ML training methodologies like FSDP and DDP
- Experience with LLM training/evaluation libraries such as HuggingFace transformers
- Proficiency in a compiled programming language such as Swift, C/C++, or Java
- Collaborative experience working on large inter-team projects
Responsibilities
- Work closely with Siri modeling teams and cross-functional teams to optimize model training and inference
- Find opportunities to enhance model performance and training speed on Apple's custom Apple Silicon
- Write production-level code to train and deploy models impacting Apple's customers
- Collaborate with engineers across ML infrastructure, inference, and framework teams
- Evaluate various approaches and push the envelope with the latest generative AI research developments
