Job description

The role is for an electrical engineer on the Touch ID team, focusing on designing sensor modules that enhance security and user experience. The Sensing Systems team integrates various sensors across Apple's product lines, and this position emphasizes design ownership rather than mere execution. The engineer will propose circuit solutions, evaluate tradeoffs, and influence system-level architecture. Collaboration with experienced engineers will support professional growth while providing real ownership of impactful designs.

Requirements

  • Solid analog circuit design fundamentals with hands-on design experience
  • Experience with circuit simulation (SPICE) and lab bring-up/debug
  • Proficiency with data analysis tools (MATLAB, Python, or similar)
  • BS and a minimum of 3 years relevant industry experience
  • Experience with sensing systems (capacitive, optical, MEMS, or similar)
  • Familiarity with PCB or flex circuit design
  • Exposure to full product development lifecycle, from concept to production
  • Ability to independently evaluate design tradeoffs and propose solutions
  • Experience presenting technical recommendations to cross-functional audiences
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with signal integrity or power integrity concepts

Responsibilities

  • Shape sensor module architectures and make electrical design decisions
  • Propose circuit solutions and evaluate design tradeoffs
  • Defend technical decisions to cross-functional partners
  • Identify root causes of problems and drive design improvements
  • Collaborate with experienced engineers to challenge thinking and support growth

Benefits

  • Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
