Job description

The SOC Performance Modeling SW Architect will be part of the system-on-chip performance team at Apple, focusing on shaping the architecture of future devices. This role involves deep collaboration with various teams to deliver high-quality performance models and infrastructure. The main goal is to ensure seamless operation of all components on the chips, enhancing customer experience. The architect will engage in the full life-cycle of performance modeling, from architectural exploration to post-silicon correlation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience in hardware architecture and design issues.
  • Experience coding in C++ and Python.
  • Experience with computer architecture and software engineering principles.
  • Experience with data structures and algorithms.
  • MS or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 20+ years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure Apple's ability to produce high quality, timely data for hardware designs.
  • Collaborate with engineers to translate design space studies into software models.
  • Develop high-performance C++ models based on hardware execution models.
  • Pay close attention to the performance, maintainability, and flexibility of the simulator.
  • Support hardware architects in quickly iterating on experiments.
