Job description
Apple's Wireless Systems and Compliance Engineering team is seeking an RF Compliance Validation Engineer to ensure regulatory compliance for new products featuring advanced radio technologies. This role involves validating emission test cases and translating global emission requirements into actionable test cases. The engineer will collaborate with various teams to drive design changes and address issues while maintaining test setups. Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree is required.
- Experience and in-depth understanding of System Transceiver RF Parametric and RF component level characteristics and behaviors is necessary.
- Working experience with lab equipment including network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and call boxes is essential.
- Master's Degree is preferred.
- Detailed understanding of at least one Wireless technology including 5G FR1, FR2, GSM, UMTS, CDMA, LTE, 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax, and Bluetooth is required.
- Understanding of Antenna characteristics impact to radiated testing is needed.
- Familiarity with radiated test setups, radiated chamber calibration, and use is important.
- Proficiency in MATLAB programming, or ADS, CST, HFSS simulation is required.
- Knowledge of worldwide Regulatory standards in relation to carrying a product to certification is essential.
Responsibilities
- Validate emission test cases for different regulatory domains in certification test setups.
- Translate world-wide emission requirements into test cases and coordinate those with Regulatory Compliance teams.
- Define and implement validation plans for regulatory-facing software features.
- Perform debugging of marginal/failure tests and interact with multi-functional teams to drive design changes.
- Maintain test setups via periodic checks and calibration.
- Assist Regulatory Compliance teams in planning and delivering final certification testing at third-party test labs.
