Job description

The Quality Engineer role at Apple focuses on testing and validating inductive firmware and software for next-generation devices such as iPhone, Watch, and Pencil. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
  • 1+ years of firmware testing and/or development experience
  • Validated skill in bug hunting and regression testing in embedded systems
  • Experience with hardware debugging tools such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers
  • Experience with test automation using Python, Bash, Swift, or other scripting languages
  • Experience with embedded software architecture and languages such as C, Objective C, or C++
  • Experience with USB-C, USB-PD, and other USB power protocols
  • Experience developing and deploying test automation tools and frameworks
  • CAD design experience for developing test fixtures
  • Experience with Splunk or general data visualization

Responsibilities

  • Independently own and follow up with developers and hardware engineers to resolve issues
  • Engage with developers, program managers, and leadership to solve highly technical challenges
  • Analyze how new features or designs impact the system from technical risk to customer experience
  • Improve efficiency through automation
