Job description
The ML Integration Engineer role focuses on ensuring Apple's inference stack integrates machine learning workflows with excellent user experience and maximum performance. The position is part of the On-Device Machine Learning team, which is dedicated to transforming AI research into practical applications for Apple devices. The engineer will work closely with various teams to enhance the functionality and performance of ML workflows across the Apple ecosystem. This role offers the opportunity to shape the experience of ML developers from model creation to deployment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Sciences, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Proficient in Python programming.
- Some familiarity with C++ is required.
- Proficiency in at least one ML authoring framework, such as PyTorch, MLX, or JAX.
- Understanding of ML fundamentals, including common architectures such as Transformers.
- Understanding of GPU programming paradigms.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to communicate with cross-functional audiences.
- Experience with C++, Swift.
- Experience with GPU kernel optimizations.
- Experience with MLIR/LLVM or similar compiler toolchains.
- Familiarity with Hugging Face or other model repositories.
Responsibilities
- Ensure Apple's inference stack allows for end-to-end integration of ML workflows.
- Partner with teams across the ML deployment stack to enhance user experience and functionality.
- Work on model-side updates, ML frameworks export, and custom kernels.
- Optimize compilers and develop analysis and debugging tools.
- Integrate the latest ML models to showcase their performance across hardware targets.
- Shape the experience of ML developers using Apple's end-to-end inference stack.
