Job description

The Silicon Engineer role focuses on design verification within Google's Platforms and Devices team, which develops custom silicon solutions for consumer products. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field and 6 years of progressive experience in a Silicon Engineer-related occupation.
  • Alternatively, a Master’s degree in the same fields with 4 years of relevant experience is acceptable.
  • 4 years of experience in computer processor architecture and microarchitecture.
  • Proficiency in object-oriented programming verification languages such as SystemVerilog, C++, or VHDL.
  • Experience with formal verification tools, simulation, emulation, or post-silicon validation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, analyze, optimize, or verify custom silicon chips for data centers and consumer devices.
  • Manage projects to complete object-oriented design verification.
  • Develop networking hardware and software to ensure reliable connectivity across global infrastructure.
  • Design and build servers, storage systems, and other hardware components optimized for data centers.
  • Supervise teams or projects to conduct verification and testing of silicon designs.
