Job description

The Display Hardware team is seeking an Electrical Engineer to contribute to the design and development of next-generation displays for Mac products. This role involves working in a collaborative environment that fosters creativity and innovation. The engineer will engage in core architecture definition and support the development of customized silicon chipsets. This position requires a strong background in electrical engineering and experience in various design and validation tasks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of industrial experience.
  • Knowledge in mixed signal EE design at either IC or PCB level.
  • Experience in circuit design and analyses.
  • Fluency with Spice based simulation tools.
  • Hands-on experience in prototype bring-up and debugging.
  • Experience in EE validation and characterization tasks.
  • Familiarity with lab tools and equipment.
  • Ability to communicate and present technology updates to executives and functional teams.
  • Experience in three or more specified areas such as DC-DC power converter design, customized IC development, or FPGA programming.
  • MSEE or PhD preferred.
  • Working knowledge of modern display technologies is a plus.
  • Experience in consumer electronics and high-volume production.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in core architecture definition and investigation while collaborating with cross-functional partners.
  • Support customized silicon chipset definition and development through system studies.
  • Lead design of PCB and electrical characterization from prototype through mass production.
  • Analyze and provide feedback on mechanical and thermal constraints impacting electrical engineering design.
  • Run simulations to meet various requirements such as Display, Touch, and Graphics.
  • Participate in cross-functional design reviews as a stakeholder in the overall system design.
  • Define factory data collection plans and provide technical support for factory production issues.
  • Communicate and present technology updates and project status to executives and cross-functional teams.
  • Manage project milestones and issues throughout product development builds.
  • Perform failure analysis on electrical, mechanical, and optical issues.
