Job description

As a DFT engineer in the Silicon Technologies group, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing design for test (DFT) solutions for semiconductor designs. Your work will ensure that Apple products can efficiently handle tasks that delight millions of customers. You will collaborate with various teams to verify DFT implementations and drive the architecture and methods for designs. This position requires a deep understanding of DFT standards and practices, as well as the ability to analyze and improve test coverage.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 10 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Knowledge of industrial standards and practices in DFT, including ATPG, JTAG, and MBIST.
  • Experience developing DFT specifications and driving DFT architecture and methods for designs.
  • Knowledge of Verilog and/or VHDL, and experience with simulators and waveform debugging tools.
  • Proven understanding of design verification methodologies for validating DFT implementation in simulation pre-silicon.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement DFT architecture.
  • Implement DFT infrastructure.
  • Work with the DV team to verify DFT implementations and implement ECOs.
  • Generate structural test vectors and analyze and improve coverage.
  • Collaborate with designers on STA, physical, power, and logical issues.
  • Work with test engineers to bring up test vectors on silicon.
  • Run schedules and support multi-functional engineering efforts.

Benefits

  • Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
