Job description
The Senior Manufacturing Engineer role at Google focuses on driving the design, optimization, and qualification of complex manufacturing processes. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field and 8 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or in a Manufacturing Engineer-related occupation.
- Alternatively, a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field, and 6 years of experience in the job offered or in a Manufacturing Engineer-related occupation.
- 6 years of experience in Production Failure Analysis and Root Cause Analysis or Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) Management.
- Experience in Hardware Product Development Lifecycle Management or New Product Introduction (NPI) Management.
- Experience in Manufacturing Process Engineering or Manufacturing Assembly Process Development.
Responsibilities
- Drive the design, optimization, and qualification of complex manufacturing processes, ensuring all tooling, software, and documentation are delivered on time and within budget.
- Lead Design for Excellence (DfX) initiatives for complex components, influencing technical designs to improve manufacturability, cost, quality, and overall availability.
- Champion the Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) process by directing investigations into technical failures and guiding teams to effectively apply analytical principles.
- Implement robust statistical process controls by defining critical parameters and analyzing data to identify improvement opportunities.
- Develop comprehensive manufacturing strategies, including partner selection and the integration of advanced technologies, to enhance production efficiency and supply continuity.
- Steer manufacturing test development for new and existing product designs, driving improvements to test platforms and software solutions.
