We are looking for a senior iOS Software Engineer with extensive experience in building applications powered by Large Language Models (LLMs). This hands-on role focuses on creating innovative on-device experiences for Apple users. The engineer will explore and define the software architecture for a high-performance system that integrates LLM agents while prioritizing user privacy. This position is ideal for an expert iOS developer passionate about AI-driven applications.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software development experience with a focus on high-performance mobile applications.
- Strong proficiency in a modern systems programming language such as C++, ObjectiveC/Swift, or Rust.
- Deep understanding of mobile system fundamentals including concurrency, memory management, and power optimization.
- Practical knowledge of how LLM-powered systems work, including prompt engineering and agent frameworks.
- Experience with on-device ML frameworks like Core ML and Foundation Model.
- Experience in SwiftUI and modern iOS architectural patterns.
- Knowledge of model quantization, caching, and other on-device optimization techniques.
- Experience with multi-platform development, including building for both iOS and macOS.
Responsibilities
- Architect and build innovative, high-performance on-device iOS applications that utilize intelligent LLM agents.
- Design client-side frameworks and architectural patterns for efficient integration of LLM systems on iOS.
- Implement software that connects user-facing applications to on-device and hybrid AI reasoning and planning engines.
- Rapidly build and iterate on application prototypes to explore new user interactions and architectural options.
Benefits
- Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
