The role is for an experienced RTL Engineer within Apple's Silicon Engineering Group, focusing on the architecture and RTL development of next-generation CPUs. The team is dedicated to designing high-performance, low-power microprocessors that power Apple's innovative products. The engineer will be involved in microarchitecture development, RTL feature ownership, and validation processes. • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and 3+ years of industry experience.
• Experience with microprocessor architecture.
• Proficiency in Verilog or VHDL.
• Knowledge of logic design principles.
• Expertise in areas such as instruction fetch and decode, branch prediction, and cache subsystems.
• Understanding of timing, power, and area tradeoffs in CPU microarchitecture.
• Familiarity with low power and high performance microarchitecture techniques.
• Experience using an interpretive language such as Perl or Python.
• Experience with simulators and waveform debugging tools like Verdi.

• Develop and specify microarchitecture from high-level exploration to detailed specifications.
• Own the development, assessment, and refinement of new RTL features targeting power, performance, area, and timing goals.
• Support test bench development and simulation for functional and performance verification.
• Explore high performance strategies and validate that the RTL design meets targeted performance.
• Collaborate with multifunctional engineering teams to implement and validate physical design aspects.
