Job description

The Packaging Simulation Engineer will work on advanced technologies to enhance product development through FEM simulation. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who excels in a collaborative environment and has extensive experience in simulation and characterization projects. The engineer will focus on stress and deformation simulations of IC packages, ensuring device yield and reliability. Additionally, the role involves scripting for CAD/FEM software and utilizing Generative-AI and Machine Learning tools for automated model generation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 10 years of relevant industry experience or equivalent.
  • Proven capability in mechanics and mathematics.
  • Hands-on experience with major FEM tools such as ANSYS, ABAQUS, and Hypermesh.
  • Proficiency in numerical simulation software tools and expertise in MATLAB and/or Scientific Python.
  • Hands-on experience with Generative-AI and Machine Learning.
  • Deep understanding of packaging materials and their mechanical behaviors.
  • Knowledge of electronic packaging structures and processes, including reliability and package qualification requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct stress and deformation simulations of IC packages.
  • Provide comprehensive understanding of chip-package and package-board interactions.
  • Script CAD/FEM software to enhance simulation processes.
  • Utilize Generative-AI and Machine Learning tools for automated model generation.
  • Perform independent research and development work.
  • Communicate ideas, design concepts, and data effectively in team meetings.
