Job description
The AirPods Firmware team is looking for a senior software engineer to enhance the health features of AirPods. This role involves working on the wireless foundation for Apple's products, including AirPods and Apple Vision Pro. The engineer will design and execute studies, drive data collection, and develop solutions across various layers of the technology stack. Collaboration with specialists and multi-functional teams is essential to prototype ideas and make architectural decisions.
Requirements
- BS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience is required.
- Three plus years of relevant industry experience is necessary.
- Extensive software architecture experience is required.
- Excellent coding skills in languages such as Swift, Objective-C, C++, or C are needed.
- Strong analytical and software debugging skills are essential.
- Over one year of software development experience with the iOS SDK is required.
- Proven expertise in firmware development on RTOS or bare metal environments is necessary.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a multi-functional environment are required.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities are essential.
- A passion for digital health and product ownership is necessary.
Responsibilities
- Implement new software and firmware to support prototyping, data collection, and feature development on the AirPods platform.
- Forge collaborative relationships with multi-functional teams to prototype ideas and develop plans.
- Design and build testable software and internal tools while working closely with QA.
- Diagnose, triage, fix, and prevent issues related to functionality, reliability, and performance.
