The Pre-silicon Compute Frameworks team at Apple is looking for a senior engineer to lead the development of new features in Metal and Metal compute frameworks. This role involves contributing to API design and performance analysis for future Apple Silicon GPUs. The engineer will also develop critical compute and machine learning use cases to demonstrate new features. Collaboration with other leaders across Apple software and hardware organizations is essential to evaluate hardware features for new silicon generations.
Requirements
- BS/MS/PhD or equivalent in Computer Science or a related field with 5 years of experience.
- Strong grasp and practical experience with at least one GPU compute API such as Metal, CUDA, or OpenCL.
- Good understanding of machine learning fundamentals and familiarity with ML frameworks like PyTorch, JAX, or CoreML.
- Knowledge of Operating Systems, Computer Architecture, and CPU/GPU programming.
- Strong background in C/C++ programming.
Responsibilities
