Job description

The Packaging Simulation Engineer will work on advanced technologies to enhance product development through FEM simulation. This role requires a self-motivated individual who thrives in a collaborative environment and has a strong focus on detail and excellence. The engineer will be involved in stress and deformation simulations of IC packages, ensuring device yield and reliability. Additionally, the role includes scripting for CAD/FEM software and utilizing Generative-AI and Machine Learning tools for automated model generation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 10 years of relevant industry experience or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in FEM simulation software such as ANSYS or ABAQUS.
  • Hands-on experience with major FEM tools including Hypermesh.
  • Expertise in numerical simulation software tools and proficiency in MATLAB and/or Scientific Python.
  • Experience with Generative-AI and Machine Learning.
  • Deep understanding of packaging materials and their mechanical behaviors.
  • Knowledge of electronic packaging structures, processes, and reliability requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct stress and deformation simulations of IC packages.
  • Provide insights into chip-package interaction and package-board interaction.
  • Script CAD/FEM software for enhanced simulation processes.
  • Develop automated model-generation user interfaces using Generative-AI and Machine Learning.
  • Perform independent research and development work.
  • Communicate ideas, design concepts, and data effectively in team meetings.
