Job description

The Packaging Simulation Engineer will work on advanced technologies to enhance product development through FEM simulation. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who excels in collaborative environments and is familiar with simulation and characterization projects. The engineer will focus on stress and deformation simulations of IC packages to improve device yield and reliability. Additionally, the position involves scripting for CAD/FEM software and utilizing Generative-AI and Machine Learning tools for automated model generation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Proven capability in mechanics and mathematics.
  • Hands-on experience with major FEM tools such as ANSYS and ABAQUS.
  • Proficiency in numerical simulation software tools and expertise in MATLAB and/or Scientific Python.
  • Hands-on experience with Generative-AI and Machine Learning.
  • Deep understanding of packaging materials and their mechanical behaviors.
  • Knowledge of electronic packaging structures and processes, including reliability and package qualification requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct stress and deformation simulations of IC packages.
  • Provide insights on chip-package interaction and package-board interaction.
  • Script CAD/FEM software for enhanced simulation processes.
  • Set up automated model-generation user interfaces using Generative-AI and Machine Learning.
  • Perform independent research and development work.
  • Communicate ideas, design concepts, and data effectively in team meetings.
