Job description

As a Graphics (GPU) Architectural Modeling Engineer in the Silicon Technologies group, you will focus on developing and validating architectural models for low power GPUs. This role involves creating detailed models that reflect the architectural and micro-architectural aspects of GPU design. You will work closely with hardware and software teams to ensure the successful bring-up of models and designs. Your contributions will help enhance the performance and efficiency of Apple's next-generation processors and systems-on-chip.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree plus 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in C++ programming.
  • Experience with C++ modeling of Computer Architectures.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Ruby, or Perl.
  • Experience with Advanced Computer Architecture.
  • Experience with GP-GPU or Parallel Architectures.
  • Experience with Computer Memory Hierarchy.
  • Experience with the bring-up and debug of complex systems.
  • Experience with the GPU Graphics Pipeline.
  • Experience with performance analysis and debugging.
  • Experience with HDLs, Verilog, System Verilog, or VHDL.
  • Experience with turning architectural specifications into executable models.

Responsibilities

  • Develop architectural models for the development, validation, and verification of GPU design.
  • Write bit-accurate architectural models for hardware/software co-validation.
  • Write timing-accurate architectural and micro-architectural models for performance validation and correlation.
  • Support GPU hardware and software teams during model and design bring-up.
  • Triage regression failures and debug failures to root cause.
  • Improve modeling infrastructure.

Benefits

  • Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
