Job description

The AIML Multimodal Foundation Model Team is focused on developing next-generation intelligent agent technologies that integrate multimodal reasoning and visual understanding. This role involves designing new architectures for multimodal agents and building capabilities for planning and tool-use. Team members will collaborate with researchers and engineers to transition cutting-edge research into practical applications for Apple products. Candidates should have a strong background in machine learning and engineering skills to contribute to innovative features in Apple's AI-powered devices.

Requirements

  • PhD, MS or equivalent experience in a relevant field
  • Experience in machine learning, deep learning, computer vision, or natural language processing
  • Proficiency in one of the following programming languages: Python, Go, Java, or C++
  • Excellent data analytical skills
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team player
  • PhD preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develop state-of-the-art multimodal foundation models for Apple Intelligence
  • Create various agent capabilities for multimodal LLMs, including visual tool use and multimodal web search
  • Fine-tune and evaluate domain-specific foundation models for tasks in Apple's AI-powered products
  • Conduct applied research to transition generative AI research into production-ready technologies
  • Translate product requirements into modeling and engineering tasks
