Job description
The System Intelligence and Machine Learning (SIML) Content Understanding team is looking for a Senior Research Manager in Multimodal Reasoning. This role involves collaborating with teams focused on operating system-wide embeddings and personalized RAG workstreams. The main focus is on advancing Apple Intelligence capabilities through innovative research and development. The candidate will lead cross-functional teams and engage with hardware engineering, design, and product partners to enhance algorithmic innovations.
Requirements
- PhD or MSc in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with a focus on machine learning.
- Strong fundamentals in machine learning and generative modeling.
- Expertise in Reinforcement Learning, Multimodal Training, or Pre-training/Post-training foundation models.
- Proficiency in using ML toolkits such as PyTorch.
- Proven track record of research contributions through publications or open source contributions.
- Experience in leading applied research efforts in Multimodal-LLMs.
- Familiarity with distributed training and large-scale data infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Lead research investigations in multimodal reasoning and algorithm development.
