Job description

Apple's Silicon Engineering Group is seeking a CPU Technology Feasibility Implementation Engineer to evaluate and improve CPU process technology. This role focuses on conducting experiments and analysis during the early design phase to maximize performance, power, and area benefits. The ideal candidate will work closely with multi-functional engineering teams to address technology-related challenges. A strong background in CPU design and process technology evaluation is essential for success in this position.

Requirements

  • Minimum BS degree and 10+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Experience with synthesis, place-and-route, and clock flow
  • Deep understanding of process technology and its evaluation
  • Deep understanding of power, performance, and area tradeoffs
  • Deep knowledge of CPU microarchitecture and low power implementation techniques

Responsibilities

  • Understand new process technology and PPA trends
  • Drive RTL-to-GDS flow through synthesis and place-and-route for technology evaluation experiments
  • Analyze PD results and identify areas for improvements to maximize PPA benefits
  • Work with multi-functional engineering teams to resolve technology-related issues
  • Perform and analyze various PD experiments with new process technology
