Job description

Apple Sports is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Sports Backend Infrastructure team. This role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining real-time data services that process and distribute sports data at scale. The engineer will work with a team of world-class engineers to create reliable and high-performance systems. Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience in building and deploying scalable, distributed systems.
  • Strong proficiency in Java with experience in both Object-Oriented and Functional programming principles.
  • Solid understanding of concurrency control mechanisms, fundamental data structures, and efficient algorithm design.
  • Hands-on experience with databases such as Cassandra and Redis, and stream processing platforms like Kafka.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience building and optimizing real-time data pipelines, including data ingestion, transformation, and delivery.
  • Practical experience with container orchestration using Kubernetes and building/maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
  • Familiarity with stream processing frameworks and associated best practices.
  • Passion for sports and the sports data ecosystem.
  • Self-motivated with strong collaboration and communication skills.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, agile environment.
