Job description

The role of an ASIC STA Engineer at Apple involves leading edge IP development and collaborating with multiple SOC teams. You will be responsible for full chip and block level timing closure ownership throughout the project lifecycle. The position requires a strong foundation in digital design and a proactive approach to problem-solving. You will work on Apple SoC chips in deep sub-micron technologies aimed at high-end mobile applications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field plus 10 years of experience
  • Strong fundamentals in the area of digital design
  • Proficient in scripting languages such as TCL and Perl
  • Familiarity with ASIC design timing concepts
  • Exposure to STA tools like Primetime is a plus
  • Familiarity with front end tools and methodologies such as synthesis and logic equivalence checks
  • Knowledge of timing corners/modes, process variations, and signal integrity issues is a plus
  • Ability to communicate effectively across all internal groups

Responsibilities

  • Lead edge IP development and coordinate with multiple SOC teams
  • Execute design and integration tasks for high quality IP deliverables
  • Own full chip and block level timing closure throughout the project
  • Develop and maintain methodology and flows related to timing verification and closure
  • Generate block and full chip timing constraints
  • Work closely with multi-functional teams to resolve complex timing issues
