Job description

The CPU team at Apple is seeking a skilled CPU Power Engineer to focus on power budgeting, analysis, and identifying recovery opportunities within high performance designs. This role involves collaboration across micro-architecture, RTL, physical design, and technology. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • 3+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Experience with Perl/Python and TCL scripting.
  • Knowledge of CPU architecture and implementation.
  • Broad knowledge related to micro-architecture and physical implementation.
  • Familiarity with CMOS circuit design and analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and estimate the power impact of new micro-architectural features.
  • Generate power rollups and projected estimates from initial to mature net lists.
  • Analyze power contributions to identify recovery opportunities in physical implementation and RTL.
  • Create power projections considering the cost of convergence and implementation.
