Job description
The CPU Power Management Microarchitect/RTL Engineer role at Apple involves driving architecture and RTL for high-performance, low power microprocessors. Requirements
- Minimum BS degree and 3+ years of relevant industry experience
- Experience with microprocessor architecture
- Experience with logic design principles with timing and power implications
- Experience in Verilog or VHDL
- Experience with simulators and waveform debugging processes
- Expertise in dynamic voltage and frequency scaling (DVFS/DVFM) and advanced thermal management
- Understanding of low power microarchitecture techniques
- Experience in C or C++ programming
- Experience using an interpretive language such as Perl or Python
Responsibilities
- Develop and specify micro-architecture from high-level exploration to detailed specification
- Own and refine RTL design to meet power, performance, area, and timing goals
- Support the verification team in developing test benches and conducting functional verification
- Explore high-performance strategies and verify RTL design performance with the performance verification team
- Collaborate with engineering teams to implement and verify physical design aspects such as timing and power
