Job description
As a GPU Design Engineer in Apple's Silicon Technologies group, you will focus on developing power-efficient, high-performance 3D graphics processor micro-architectures for mobile devices and personal computers. Your work will ensure that Apple products can efficiently handle complex tasks, contributing to the design of next-generation GPUs. You will collaborate with multi-functional teams to meet performance, timing, and area goals while adhering to rigorous design principles. This role requires a strong background in GPU architectures and a passion for solving complex challenges.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience.
- Strong background in GPU, CPU, or SIMD architectures.
- Expert knowledge of System Verilog HDL.
- Experience designing GPU Schedulers, Execution Units, Texture/Pixel Units, or Caches.
- Detailed understanding of synthesis tools, timing analysis, floor planning, and the PNR flow.
- Experience in hardware performance analysis.
- Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python, Ruby, or Perl.

- Deliver high-quality, low-power graphics IP that meets performance, timing, and area goals.
- Explore design trade-offs while exercising rigorous design principles.
- Understand and contribute to pioneering micro-architectural specifications.
- Collaborate closely with multi-functional teams in architecture, validation, modeling, and physical design.
- Drive bring up and debug of complex designs.
- Communicate effectively and work well in a team under aggressive product schedules.
