Job description
The Developer Experience Human Interface Design team is seeking an experienced design leader to guide the user experience for Apple developer tools like Xcode. This role focuses on user-centered design while addressing complex workflows in line with Apple's design principles. The leader will work closely with engineering managers and designers to foster collaboration and drive innovative ideas. Strong communication skills are essential for advocating user-focused decisions and maintaining high design standards.
Requirements
- 5+ years of industry experience as a UX designer, Human Computer Interaction designer, or related role.
- 2+ years of design management experience.
- Depth of knowledge of tools and workflows used in software development.
- Ability to drive clarity in product vision that unites technical requirements with user focus.
- Portfolio demonstrating product design leadership, creative problem solving, and high quality visual design polish.
Responsibilities
- Lead a small team to deliver user experience designs across multiple projects and tools.
- Drive design direction with a mix of hands-on design work and providing creative direction to the team.
- Build strong partnerships with engineering managers, designers, and engineers.
- Represent design goals to partners and executives effectively.
- Champion Apple's design standards and ensure high visual quality in designs.
