Job description

This position involves working on advanced DC-DC power designs for Apple's next generation Mac platforms, including portable, desktop, and server systems. The role requires collaboration with teams to develop innovative products that impact millions of users. As a DC-DC power system designer, you will be responsible for driving power circuit designs from concept to manufacturing. The environment is dynamic, requiring a highly motivated individual who can work well with multi-functional teams.

Requirements

  • Electrical or Computer engineering degree with more than 5 years of relevant work experience in consumer and server electronics or semiconductor companies.
  • Understanding of single- and multi-phase DC-DC regulators, control loops, passive components, operating modes, thermals, efficiency, and fault protection functions.
  • Experience in power circuit design, simulations, functionality and performance validation, test automation, and issue debugging.
  • Proficiency in code development skills such as Python, Matlab, or Math Cad.
  • Experience with multi-channel power management integrated circuits and high-current data-center rack power distribution.
  • Background in analog, digital, or power integrated circuit design.
  • Experience with digital hardware design, including microcontrollers and digital interfaces like I2C, SPI, and SPMI.

Responsibilities

  • Implement advanced DC-DC power designs for various Mac platforms.
  • Drive innovative power circuit designs and system level partitioning.
  • Collaborate with teams throughout the design execution process.
  • Support factory or vendor operations through occasional travel in the US and overseas.
  • Validate functionality and performance of power circuit designs.

Benefits

  • Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
