The Intelligence System Experience (ISE) team at Apple is seeking engineers passionate about Generative AI to work on innovative generative modeling technologies. This role involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team focused on multimodal machine learning and system experiences. The team aims to enhance user experiences through advancements in areas such as visual understanding and behavioral modeling. Candidates will contribute to the development of tools for training and deploying large-scale generative models.
Requirements
- Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with a focus on machine learning.
- Experience in training and adapting large language models and diffusion models.
- Advanced fluency in PyTorch.
- Excellent programming skills with experience contributing to large software projects.
- Experience with distributed training of large models.
- Strong fundamentals in machine learning.
- Experience working with large, cross-functional, and diverse teams.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to tools for large generative model training including diffusion and autoregressive workflows.
- Develop tools for efficient inference and hosting of models for experimentation and human feedback.
- Create tooling for model representation and efficient deployment on multiple hardware targets including Apple Silicon.
- Benchmark, analyze, and improve training and inference performance.
- Integrate efficient data loading strategies and auto-evaluation workflows.
- Manage CI/CD of base training workstreams.
