JobsCPU Implementation Engineer
Job description
Apple's Silicon Engineering Group is seeking dedicated CPU Implementation Engineers to contribute to the design and optimization of CPU micro-architecture. The role involves working closely with micro-architects and cross-functional teams to ensure design feasibility and enhance power, performance, and area trade-offs. Engineers will be responsible for block-level design delivery and improving silicon yield while collaborating with internal teams on synthesis and place-and-route tool optimizations. This position offers the opportunity to be part of a dynamic team that drives innovation in CPU design.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and at least 3 years of industry experience
- Experience in logic design and digital circuits
- Proficiency in TCL or Perl
- Familiarity with high-performance CPU microprocessor architecture
- Experience with industry-standard logic synthesis, place-and-route, static timing analysis, and power analysis tools
Responsibilities
- Work with micro-architects to define micro-architecture and assist with design feasibility and PPA trade-offs
- Drive RTL-to-GDS design convergence through microarchitecture and logic optimizations
- Ensure block-level design delivery and closure of backend flows and electrical requirements
- Collaborate with internal CAD and PD methodology teams on tool features and optimizations
- Work with cross-functional teams on CPU floorplan, timing, power, reliability, and testability
- Collaborate with custom IP teams to optimize memory macros and library standard cells
Benefits
- Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
