The AirPlay Audio team at Apple is seeking an expert developer in media networking technologies to enhance immersive audio experiences for users. This role involves developing new protocols and techniques for media distribution across various Apple devices. The ideal candidate will collaborate with networking, WiFi, and hardware teams to optimize audio delivery. The focus is on pushing the boundaries of media distribution and enriching user experiences.

• BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent
• Experience with network protocols and media transport over IP
• Experience with congestion control algorithms and techniques
• Proficiency in C or C++ with a focus on multithreading and system software
• Low-level systems debugging and performance profiling experience
• Familiarity with RTP, RTCP, or related real-time media protocols
• Experience in audio and other media programming
• Experience debugging problems in a highly concurrent environment
• Experience with using and developing media libraries especially for mobile platforms
• Leadership and mentoring experience
• Experience with data analytics and visualization tools like Splunk

• Develop and ship new technologies and features for audio distribution among Apple devices.
• Collaborate with audio, playback, hardware WiFi engineering, and other teams.
• Take ownership of media networking technologies and identify new opportunities for user enrichment.
• Drive complex end-to-end investigations independently.
• Ensure efficient and high-quality audio distribution across the AirPlay ecosystem.
