Job description

The Apple User Privacy Team is seeking an experienced engineer to provide privacy guidance for health, wellness, and fitness features. This role involves reviewing features for privacy exposures and designing methodologies for data collection that protect user privacy. The candidate will work closely with various teams to ensure that health data is handled responsibly and in compliance with privacy standards. Strong communication skills and a passion for customer privacy are essential for success in this position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • Experience conducting privacy reviews
  • Experience with health research or the creation of health features
  • Passion for customer privacy
  • Strong collaboration, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Ability to learn and research new technologies rapidly, assess privacy exposures, and suggest mitigations
  • Ability to analyze systems' architectures for privacy impact
  • Ability to solve complex problems independently
  • Programming experience

Responsibilities

  • Review features to identify privacy exposures and partner with teams to design mitigations.
  • Audit new products to identify bugs in development and review customer data collected by engineering teams to drive decisions for privacy impact.
  • Communicate privacy risks and potential mitigations to senior leadership to drive decisions.
  • Guide the development of data collection systems that enable health features while preserving privacy.
  • Partner with technical experts in various Health teams to provide guidance to engineers and leaders on the right privacy technology to use when developing new features.
