Job description
As a CPU Verification Engineer at Apple, you will play a crucial role in the chip design effort, collaborating with various disciplines to ensure the functionality correctness of CPU designs. This position requires a strong background in digital logic design and chip architecture, as well as the ability to develop and lead test plans. You will be responsible for creating complex tests and coverage monitors, ensuring that all test cases are adequately covered. Your work will have a significant impact on delivering innovative products to millions of customers.
Requirements
- Minimum BS degree and 10+ years of relevant industry experience
- Knowledge of digital logic design, chip architecture, and microarchitecture
- Experience with the development of test plans/testbenches and C-based transactors
- Proficiency in writing and debugging assembly-based tests
- Experience with C/C++ programming and Verilog
- Knowledge of advanced verification techniques such as formal and assertions
- Understanding of the silicon bring-up process
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently
Responsibilities
- Work closely with architecture and RTL designers to verify the functionality correctness of the design
- Develop and lead test plans and test environments
- Develop complex tests in assembly, C, or vectors according to test plans
- Develop coverage monitors and analyze coverage to ensure all test cases are covered
- Develop checkers or C-based transactors to verify the design
