Job description
The Software Engineer role is part of the new Code Observability team at Apple, focusing on building a large-scale analytics platform that enhances code quality and developer productivity. This team works at the intersection of distributed systems, analytics, and GenAI, creating tools that provide real-time insights into code changes. Engineers will develop data pipelines, web applications, and services while collaborating with various Apple teams. The position offers the opportunity to lead new initiatives and contribute to a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience building distributed services and web applications.
- Strong programming skills in at least one systems language such as Swift, Rust, or Go.
- Proficiency with SQL and web technologies.
- Experience improving code quality and deployment velocity through CI/CD and testing practices.
- Strong communication skills and a passion for developer experience.
- Familiarity with TypeScript and modern frontend frameworks like React.
- Experience with containerized environments and Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of data warehousing and database platforms such as Snowflake and Postgres.
- Experience with GitHub and Bitbucket App integrations.
- Familiarity with GenAI/LLM integrations, observability systems, or developer productivity tools.
Responsibilities
- Design and build backend services, web applications, and real-time data pipelines that surface code quality metrics at scale.
- Integrate seamlessly with GitHub, Bitbucket, and Apple's custom build and test services.
- Create data models and exploratory visualizations for project and organization-wide analysis.
- Design novel analysis techniques and improve core build and test systems.
- Integrate GenAI services to provide intelligent insights.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and present technical designs to your team, customers, and leadership.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and team standards while creating documentation and tools.
