Job description

Apple Silicon Engineering is looking for Hardware-minded Software Engineers to develop innovative tools for designing Apple's next-generation systems-on-chip (SOCs). The role involves creating specialized software tools and simulation platforms for analog mixed-signal circuits that connect Apple's processors to the physical world. Candidates will leverage their software engineering skills alongside hardware knowledge to build automation frameworks and optimization algorithms. This position requires strong programming abilities and offers the opportunity to work on complex problems at the intersection of software development and hardware design.

Requirements

  • BS degree and 10+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Expert-level proficiency in Python and/or C++
  • Strong background in object-oriented programming (OOP) and software architecture design
  • Experience with computational geometry, constraint solvers, or optimization algorithms
  • Knowledge of event-driven programming and system-level simulation frameworks
  • Understanding of analog layout principles and EDA tool APIs and file formats
  • Experience developing web applications and designing frontend user interfaces

Responsibilities

  • Develop software representations of future hardware circuits
  • Create specialized software tools for analog mixed-signal circuit design
  • Build automation frameworks and optimization algorithms
  • Enable circuit designers to create physical interfaces for Apple's processors
  • Apply modern software design methodology to hardware design

Benefits

  • Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
