Job description
We are seeking a Staff level Software Engineer to advance our Manufacturing Systems and Operations using the latest LLMs and custom fine-tuned models. The role involves prototyping ideas and experimenting with new approaches to solve existing problems. You will collaborate with multiple organizations and functional roles to develop impactful solutions that will be used by various engineering teams at Apple. Experience in taking ideas from conception to production and scaling them is essential.
Requirements
- 10+ years in a senior role working across the entire tech stack with a skilled team.
- 10+ years building robust HTTP APIs and backend services.
- Expert level grasp of at least 1 modern programming language, preferably Go.
- Experience building solutions that leverage APIs from the latest LLMs.
- Experience with model pipeline and registry tools, detecting and preventing model drift.
- Experience building robust evaluations for prompt optimization and tuning ML workflows.
- Experience with RAG and modern model in context learning techniques.
- Experience with SQL and database systems such as PostgreSQL.
- Experience building ETL pipelines in data warehouses such as Snowflake.
Responsibilities
- Prototype ideas and experiment with new approaches to solve existing problems.
- Collaborate with multiple organizations and functional roles to develop solutions.
- Take ideas from the whiteboard to production and scale them.
- Design and architect solutions for challenges faced in manufacturing high-quality hardware products.
- Work closely with Manufacturing Design Engineers, Product Designers, and other stakeholders.
