Job description

The SoC Quality and Reliability Engineer at Google Cloud will focus on shaping the future of AI/ML hardware acceleration by driving cutting-edge TPU technology. This role involves collaborating with various teams to ensure high-performance computing SOC products meet stringent quality requirements. The engineer will lead the development of design-for-reliability guidelines and optimize silicon production and reliability. This position is part of a team that empowers Google customers with breakthrough capabilities and insights.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science with an emphasis on computer architecture.
  • Experience with semiconductor manufacturing, chip design, or device physics.
  • Experience in silicon or hardware quality, including reliability testing and product lifecycle standards.
  • Experience working with foundry or advanced packaging processes.

Responsibilities

  • Own the development of design-for-reliability guidelines in collaboration with subject area experts.
  • Define and execute silicon and package qualification activities.
  • Extract, manipulate, and analyze large volumes of data from qualification programs to identify failure mechanisms and reliability trends.
  • Lead cross-functional investigations of IC quality and reliability issues to identify root causes and develop solutions.
  • Develop and implement physics-based statistical quality and reliability models to predict failure mechanisms and degradation patterns.
