Job description
The Software Engineer, Fabric Networking role at Google focuses on developing and implementing scalable network topologies within the Control Plane Networking team. This team is part of the Platforms Accelerators & Networking group, which addresses challenges related to network growth and availability. The engineer will work on integrating software control planes with physical network realities and will engage with hardware vendors to qualify new technologies. This position is critical for supporting the ongoing growth of Google's data centers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
- 2 years of experience with distributed systems
- 2 years of experience coding in C++
- 2 years of experience with data center networking
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and architecture of scalable network topologies.
- Collaborate with hardware vendors to qualify new switch platforms and optical technologies.
- Design and implement software systems that interact directly with routing protocols.
- Engage with the open networking community to leverage and contribute to industry-standard network operating systems and tools.
