Job description

The Apple Silicon GPU Pre-Silicon Driver Team is responsible for developing the Pre-Silicon GPU drivers for future generations of Apple Silicon GPUs. This role involves collaborating with various teams to ensure the GPU Driver supports new hardware features and is prepared for advanced GPU graphics rendering and compute techniques. The engineer will work on bringing new GPU features from concept through development to silicon bring-up. A strong engineering background and a passion for learning and succeeding in a collaborative environment are essential.

Requirements

  • Technical BS/MS degree or equivalent experience
  • Excellent software design, problem solving, debugging, and performance analysis ability
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Good programming skills with knowledge of C or C++
  • Prior GPU driver development experience
  • Understanding of the graphics pipeline and GPU architecture
  • Experience with GPU programming using Metal, DirectX, Vulkan, CUDA, Direct Compute, OpenGL, or OpenCL
  • Silicon bring-up experience

Responsibilities

  • Develop and support the GPU Driver for iOS and macOS platforms
  • Assist in silicon bring-up of new Apple SoCs
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure the GPU Driver supports new hardware features
  • Work on the lifecycle of new products from initial specification to production validation
  • Build exciting new GPU-focused features and prototype future hardware and software GPU features
