Job description

The CPU RTL Architect role at Apple involves driving architecture and RTL for high-performance, low power microprocessors that power innovative products like the iPhone and Mac. Requirements

  • Minimum BS degree and 10+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Experience with microprocessor architecture
  • Experience with logic design principles with timing and power implications
  • Experience in Verilog or VHDL
  • Experience with simulators and waveform debugging process
  • Expertise in dynamic voltage and frequency scaling (DVFS/DVFM) and advanced thermal management
  • Understanding of low power microarchitecture techniques
  • Experience in C or C++ programming
  • Experience using an interpretive language such as Perl or Python

Responsibilities

  • Develop and specify micro-architecture from high-level exploration to detailed specification
  • Own the development, assessment, and refinement of RTL design to meet power, performance, area, and timing goals
  • Support the verification team in test bench development and functional verification
  • Explore high-performance strategies and verify that the RTL design meets targeted performance
  • Collaborate with multi-functional engineering teams to implement and verify physical design aspects
