Job description

This role involves working within Apple's Silicon Technologies group to design and manufacture high-performance, power-efficient processors and system-on-chip (SoC) solutions. The focus is on analyzing silicon performance data and improving design methodologies to enhance product performance and battery life. The position requires collaboration with various teams to design experiments and refine design processes. The goal is to optimize power and performance tradeoffs in Apple's devices.

Requirements

  • Minimum requirement of a BS degree and 3 years of relevant industry experience
  • Coding experience in one or more of C, Perl, Python, or Tcl
  • Experience in static timing analysis, DFT, physical design, failure analysis, or CAD
  • Solid coding and debugging skills in C, Perl, Python, or Tcl
  • Fundamentals of statistics, hypothesis testing, data mining, Machine Learning, and Design of Experiments

Responsibilities

  • Analyze silicon performance data and incorporate findings into static timing analysis tools and methodologies
  • Work with design teams, DFT, CAD, and product engineering to design experiments and analyze results
  • Refine design methodologies applied across all silicon design at Apple
  • Develop and deploy design closure margins and methodologies to optimize power/performance tradeoffs

Benefits

  • Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
