Job description
This role is focused on supporting the power activity of Apple's GPU development within the Silicon Technologies group. The engineer will develop energy models for power estimation and analyze power consumption to identify reduction opportunities. Collaboration with various teams is essential to drive power reduction techniques and improve GPU architecture. The position requires a blend of technical expertise and creativity to enhance the performance and efficiency of Apple's next-generation processors.
Requirements
- Minimum BS degree in a relevant field.
- 3+ years of relevant experience in computer architecture.
- Knowledge of low power ASIC design.
- Proficient in Python or similar scripting languages.
- Experience investigating and evaluating PPA tradeoffs.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team.
Responsibilities
- Develop micro-architectural level energy models for early power estimation.
- Analyze and provide insight into power consumption throughout the GPU.
- Drive power reduction techniques across the entire stack.
- Develop tools for measurement, visualization, and analysis of GPU energy.
- Conduct directed studies to prototype solutions for improving GPU architecture.
