JobsCAD Engineer â Design Verification Methodology
Job description
In this role, you will be part of Apple's Silicon Technologies group, focusing on the development and enhancement of sophisticated software systems for regression-testing silicon designs. You will work closely with the CAD team to identify and report defects in chip designs, ensuring high-quality silicon production. Your expertise in debugging and innovative problem-solving will be essential in supporting Apple's DV and chip design engineering efforts. Collaboration with EDA vendors will also be a key aspect of your responsibilities.
Requirements
- Minimum of a BS degree with 10 years of relevant experience
- Experience developing, maintaining, and enhancing a system for regressing RTL
- Python programming background is required
- Experience with TCL or Perl is a plus
- Experience with artificial intelligence and machine learning
- MSEE/CE/CS preferred
- Knowledge in Verilog and SystemVerilog; familiarity with VHDL is a plus
- Experience with Synopsys VCS, XCelium, or Modelsim
- Good communication skills are required
- Experience writing or maintaining a script or Makefile that builds a simulation model from RTL is a plus
- Familiarity with Verdi and/or Indago is considered a plus
- Knowledge of C and C++ is a plus
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and enhance existing software systems for regression-testing silicon designs
- Diagnose the root cause of complex problems and guide engineers in problem-solving
- Collaborate with EDA vendors to incorporate new capabilities and resolve tool problems
- Implement new functionality to solve emerging problems or optimize existing methods
- Interact with DV teams to assist in solving their challenges
