Job description

As a DRAM Design Validation Engineer in Apple's Silicon Technologies group, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful integration of DRAM memories with system-on-chip (SoC) devices. This position involves collaborating with various engineering teams to define memory controller and PHY requirements while ensuring compliance with Apple's standards. You will also work closely with DRAM vendors to enhance performance and power efficiency in Apple systems. Your expertise will contribute to the development of next-generation processors that power Apple's beloved devices.

Requirements

  • PhD, MS, or BS degree with 5+ years of experience in DRAM development
  • Expertise in DRAM cell architectures
  • Strong knowledge of DRAM memory organization and periphery design for low power
  • Experience in DRAM simulation and memory interface verification
  • Familiarity with LPDDR IO characterization and qualification
  • Understanding of memory test patterns and DRAM reliability
  • Knowledge of innovative packaging technologies and their impact on signal/power integrity
  • Previous experience in Failure Analysis of DRAM devices
  • Excellent hardware and software debugging skills
  • Experience working with major DRAM vendors
  • Strong background in computer architecture
  • Programming experience in C/C++
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and teamwork

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the successful integration of DRAM memories with SoC devices.
  • Work with design, verification, and integration engineers to define memory controller and PHY requirements.
  • Collaborate with Architecture, MCU, DDRPHY, and DRAM vendors for main memory features.
  • Ensure DRAM simulation meets Apple's requirements.
  • Meet internal and external DRAM silicon and package level testing needs.
  • Debug RMA materials with DRAM related defects.
  • Collaborate with DRAM vendors to improve performance and power efficiency.
  • Drive roadmaps and specifications for memory vendors for next technology node devices.
