Job description

The Apple Silicon GPU Driver team is seeking engineers to develop and support machine learning-based rendering algorithms for future GPU hardware and software. This role involves designing new MetalFX techniques and optimizing support for new system-on-chips and platforms. Engineers will collaborate with industry specialists to shape future generations of the Metal API and Apple Silicon GPUs. The position requires applying knowledge of computer graphics, operating systems, and machine learning to create high-performance software.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in GPU programming with Metal, DirectX, Vulkan, CUDA, Direct Compute, OpenGL, or OpenCL.
  • Strong programming knowledge of C/C++ and Python.
  • Familiarity with realtime graphics/image processing algorithms and machine learning.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Technical BS/MS degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience with machine learning authoring frameworks such as PyTorch is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prototype and develop machine learning-based rendering algorithms.
  • Design and implement new MetalFX techniques.
  • Tune MetalFX support for new SOCs and platforms.
  • Develop the Apple Silicon GPU driver to support realtime machine learning workloads.
