Job description

The Senior Hardware Test Engineer will be part of a core team of engineers focused on testing complex machine learning platforms and power distribution designs. This role involves physical interaction with hardware in a simulated data center environment, ensuring that lab resources are prepared for new products. The engineer will also manage lab budgets and team performance while ensuring a safe working environment. The position is integral to the development of Google's cutting-edge AI and infrastructure technologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in a hardware test technical environment, or 3 years with an advanced degree.
  • Experience with AC/DC power design and testing.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings such as schematics and datasheets.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end rack system integration testing by defining system configurations.
  • Drive the development of test automation to facilitate system performance and reliability.
  • Design network, power, and cooling infrastructure for end-to-end system testing.
  • Provide integrated software to synchronize test execution with external measurement instrumentation.
  • Coordinate project planning and execution within hardware development labs.
