Job description
The Silicon CAD Engineer role at Google focuses on shaping the future of AI/ML hardware acceleration, specifically through the development of TPU technology. The engineer will collaborate with experts in silicon development to design, code, and test projects that impact chips powering Google Cloud systems. This position requires a strong foundation in silicon design and verification, as well as experience with automation scripting. Requirements
- PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience in Verilog, SystemVerilog, or an equivalent hardware description language.
- Experience with scripting for automation using languages such as shell, Python, or Perl.
- Experience in silicon design/verification, FPGA design/verification, or EDA tools.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate in or lead projects to identify automation opportunities and develop custom tooling or flows.
- Study, diagnose, and review technical issues by collaborating with silicon and software engineers.
- Develop and review code developed by other team members to ensure best practices are followed.
- Write documents that set new technical directions and contribute to existing documentation.
- Leverage AI to speed the development of tools and provide efficient user interactions.
