The Software Engineer for Edge TPU Compilers at Google will work on optimizing and enhancing compiler quality and performance for machine learning models targeting the EdgeTPU. This role involves collaborating with architects to shape future accelerator designs and improve the efficiency of ML workloads. The engineer will contribute to the development of algorithms that reduce compute costs and improve compilation times. This position is critical in enabling transformative user experiences through advanced machine learning technologies.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience working with embedded systems or device software.
• 2 years of experience with compilers, including development and parallelization.
• 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, such as C++, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.

• Analyze and improve compiler quality, performance, optimization decisions, correctness, and compilation time.
• Develop and enhance parallelization and scheduling algorithms to reduce compute and data movement costs for executing ML workloads.
• Collaborate with EdgeTPU architects to shape future accelerators and the Hardware/Software interface.
• Work on efficient mapping of generative AI models into EdgeTPU instructions through the compiler.
