Job description
The role is part of Apple's Platform Infrastructure team, which focuses on building and operating core systems that support innovation across the company. Engineers in this team work in a hybrid infrastructure environment, managing large-scale Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) platforms and enterprise-grade virtualization systems. The position involves collaboration with experts to solve complex challenges and automate processes at scale. Contributions directly impact the development of Apple's next-generation technology.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or 5+ years of equivalent industry experience.
- 3+ years of experience supporting enterprise infrastructure and hyper-converged environments.
- Proficiency in VMware vSphere/ESXi and hands-on experience with other hypervisors including Hyper-V, KVM, and OpenStack.
- Strong proficiency in both Windows Server and Linux administration.
- Experience with vGPU configurations and management.
- Skilled in golden image creation, optimization, and patch management.
- Experience with application virtualization technologies.
- Experience with server hardware management using iLO / iDRAC / ILOM interfaces.
- Understanding of network services and secure remote access tools.
- Solid understanding of storage protocols and familiarity with enterprise storage platforms.
Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and maintain large-scale Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) platforms.
- Collaborate with team members to solve complex challenges in virtualization.
- Automate processes to enhance efficiency and reliability.
- Manage full VM lifecycle and perform administration tasks on vCenter / ESXi.
- Ensure optimal performance and security of enterprise infrastructure.
